CENS students
CENS (Center for Environmental and Natural Sciences) students proudly display their Adopt-A-Pond sign with Ms. Veronica Tangiri, the water quality/adopt-a-pond coordinator for the PWC soil and water conservation district and Mr. Tim Hughes, engineering assistant III with the PWC department of Public Works.

TAs part of adopting the pond, students will participate in cleaning up around the pond and trail at least two times a year.  The first clean up will be Wed. Nov. 13th after school. There will be another clean up in the spring of 2020.  Volunteers will be supplied gloves, trash bags, safety vests and litter grabbers from the PWC Soil and Water Conservation District. In return, volunteers will provide data on the types, amounts and weights of trash collected.

In addition, CENS students will collect data about litter on campus and around the storm drains as well as water quality of the pond. Students will provide the soil and water conservation district with that data. We are thankful for the wonderful partnership we have created with Ms. Tangiri and Mr. Hughes and look forward to doing our part as responsible environmental citizens.

If you are interested in being a part of CENS, please see Dr. Doiron, the CENS Club sponsor,  in room 2205.
