RAIN BARREL WORKSHOP

CENS CLUB MEETING

MARCH 11th 2:20 in the CENS LAB

Friends of the Occoquan will instruct students on how to build rain barrels. Students will learn how rain barrels can help reduce stormwater runoff and increase sustainability. The rain barrels will then be used on Freedom’s campus to increase efforts of sustainability!

CENS (and anyone who is interested) OPPORTUNITY to Earn Community Service Hours!

WHEN: The event is Sat. 21 March. We would run an activity from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Stonewall Jackson High School. We would meet at 830am and would be done around 1100-1130.

WHAT: Play a role in the Youth Ambassador’s yearly conference and promote conservation. We would run an activity from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on the stage at Stonewall Jackson High School in the auditorium. After the activity, we would participate in the discussions guided by local experts and members of the Stonewall Jackson Ecology Club.

INTERNATIONAL NIGHT WOULD LIKE CENS (any interested students!) to create a Tri Fold presentation on the wildfires in Australia focusing on how the fires have affected the plants and animals.

Students can gain hours by creating a presentation/board (Dr. Doiron will supply the materials) and manning the table during International Night-Th April 2nd
