A Message from Incoming Principal Chevelli Smith

New principal announced - Chevelli Smith

Dear Freedom High School Eagles,

I am excited to become the new principal of Freedom High School, beginning July 1. I cannot wait to work with our amazing staff and Freedom families to ensure every student is learning at a high level in a positive and inclusive environment.

Let me share a little background about myself. A native of Prince William County, I graduated from Gar-Field High School before teaching history there for 19 years. I have spent the past five years as the assistant principal there. I have a master's degree in education and a master's degree in administration, and I have experience working with the Student Leadership program and Teacher Mentor program. While at Gar-Field, I also supervised support to our English Learners, Career and Technical Education program, and the music, art, and world languages departments.

My goal is to work with our staff members, our families, and our community to support the academic growth of all students. I make a promise to everyone in our Freedom Family - I will work my hardest to be a powerful and positive impact on everyone in our community, as we work together to take care of the school and those who care about it. My hope is to make every student feel special and every teacher feel supported, while listening to every parent and collaborating with my administration team.

We can make our vision a reality at Freedom High School. I look forward to meeting you. Have a safe and enjoyable summer.

Sincerely,

Chevelli Smith
